This past weekend, we caught up on a bunch of dyno run videos and added them to our archive located here. The dyno archive contains most of the cars that have run on our Dynojet dyno for the last two years.

This past weekend, Wally brought down his recently finished Ford Mustang. The Mustang's 530 ci V8 is now supported by twin 88mm turbos. This Mustang was being tuned by Jeff and the goal was to max out the Dynojet dyno. This new setup reached that goal with power to spare. Here is the video of the record breaking run and some photos to follow.

A new vehicle has broken the highest horsepower record for naturally aspirated engines.  The V8 in this truck puts out over 700whp.

The truck is a Pro Stock 1956 Chevy Truck.

Parachute greater than brakes

With a parachute and wheelie bars, this is a very fast '56 Chevy.  The owner/driver hopes to break into the 8s with this setup.

Under the hood is a fully built 565 cid Chevy V8.

565 big block

This engine is running at 14.7 to 1 compression.  The list of parts is extensive and from the best component manufacturers.  Power is transferred to the ground through a Turbo 400 with 4:10 gears.

Here is the video.

This past weekend at our Summer Cruise-In, a vehicle broke the current high horsepower run on our dyno.  The twin-turbo Dodge Viper SRT-10 that held the record was running on pump gas with water/meth injection, the new record holder was on race gas.

PSI's Summer Cruise-In 2010 031

The Viper was beaten by another vehicle powered by a Viper V10.  This 2005 twin-turbo Dodge Ram SRT-10 put down 1260 whp and 1192 ft-lbs of torque.  With a race gas map, the truck was able to make this much power from the V10 with the help of two GT42 turbos.

We will just have to wait and see how long this Twin-Turbo Ram SRT-10 stays at the top.

Following the new highest 4 Cylinder whp car we had last week, the 838 whp Evo, we had a high horsepower Supra on our dyno to challenge the previous record holder.  This 1995 Supra is setup for the drag strip.  This car used to run 9.40s in the quarter mile but that was not fast enough for the owner.  He wanted it to run in the 8s, so he had John Reed Racing and PSI to make the car reach this goal.  A custom 88mm turbo kit was pieced together and installed on the car.  Alex Laventure fabricated intercooler piping, a header back exhaust, and an aluminum undertray.

This past weekend, Jason Oefelein tuned a Mitsubishi Evolution VIII GSR.  This Evo had been previously tuned by Jason with a different turbo setup.  The owner wanted a little more power so with the new setup he used a 67/65 Billet Turbo.  The 4G63 was a solid block with aluminum rods.  The owner drove the car down from Washington on a base map to have tuned by Jason.  With the AEM EMS controlling everything, Jason was able to get put down 800+whp.  The previous best with the old setup was 600+whp.

Records by cylinders.  The more cylinders does not always mean high horsepower.  Forced induction makes up for less cylinders and displacement.
